Our annual Pancake night came around and again we enjoyed the cooking and antics of The Pancake King (Scott and Kay). It’s as much fun catching the pancakes as eating them! Great to have our learners and experienced dancers join in all the fun!

2019 May 23-26 – Weekend away to Kapunda, SA
In May 2019, our club enjoyed a weekend away in Kapunda, a small historic mining town about 1-1/2 hours drive north of Adelaide.
The weekend consisted of walking tours, drive along tour, a walk thru the mine area, an aviation museum and a tour of a magnificent homestead kept in the 1800’s style. Of course as you’ll see in the video there was a lot of eating in hotels, a BBQ, breakfast at a dancer’s home, more hotels (one even haunted!). And it wouldn’t be a club function without square dancing and we held a Fri night casual dress dance and a Saturday night square dance dress night all in the Kapunda Institute – Soldiers Memorial Hall.
2019 May 13th – Mothers’ Day Dance
Celebrating Mothers’ Day in May. Dancers dressed in pinks & floral decorations in the hall. Good to have Jaden Frigo form Victoria drop in and dance and call for us.
2019 May – 60th National Convention in Tasmania
A number of our club members and other fellow South Australians attended and enjoyed the 60th National Square Dance Convention in Deloraine in Tasmania. This includes our sharp looking dressed set shown above in lavender. Thanks for being in our set at representing the club.
2019 April 22nd – Easter & graduation
Our annual Easter Dance was enhanced with the Graduation of our Intermediate dancers into Mainstream. Congratulations to Rosie, Clayton & Tianna – look forward to seeing more of you on the dance floor.
2019 March 18th – St Patrick’s Spud Night

Enjoyed the spuds
There’s a wee leprechaun on stage
A wonderful crowd
Swinging to Irish music
Looking good in green
The tireless volunteers who help set up and take down
More wonderful volunteers
Attention to detail – it’s worth it!
A jig or a square dance?
The giant spud watches over you
Great dancing!
As March rolls around, it’s time for our annual St Patrick’s Spud night. Thanks to O’Laughlins for providing the spud van and serving the hungry group. Great to see everyone dressed in greens and we enjoyed dancing to some Irish music – jigs and some songs.
2019 March 13th – Dance with Jerry Jestin

Ready for a great night
Graham has a night on the floor this time!
Fred and Ginger got nothin on us!
Rounding up
And they’re off!
Jerry Jestin
Great dancing
Jerry in fine form
We all enjoyed it
Happy dancers
Yep – Jerry’s in control
Nice to see Dianne, Tim and Catherine pop in
Fun all night
He may be retiring but he’s still got it
Well, sometimes you gotta take a break
And the club president shows his style!
We had the pleasure of hosting a dance for Canadian caller Jerry Jestin. Jerry was on a world tour marking his retirement from calling and was catching up with all the people he has known over his 50+ years in the business. We were thrilled with the response and a wonderful crowd enjoyed Jerry’s night of Plus, Rounds and Mainstream dancing. Thanks to all who attended and for the very extensive supper spread!
2019 February 11th – St Valentine’s Charity Night

Our annual St Valentine’s Dance is always popular. We combine a Valentine’s theme, a pre-loved clothing sale, dancer requests and we donate all proceeds to a voted charity. Enjoy the video – it has snippets of the evening including Learner and Mainstream brackets and all the music you hear was requested by our dancers.
2019 January 30th – Plus Graduates

Congratulations to our latest group who completed the Plus Program! A very dedicated bunch and big thanks to Yvonne (on the right) who made the certificates and even presented a novel trophy to the teacher!! (Beats an apple :-))
2019 January 28 – Aussie Night & BBQ
Our annual celebration of Australia Day – we put on a BBQ beautifully prepared and cooked by the Largs Bay Rotary Club. Dancers dressed in Australian colours and the hall was adorned with some eye catching decorations. Thanks to those who helped set up and pack away and especially all our dancers who created a fun atmosphere.
