2020-12 – We’re back Dancing again!!

We’re back!!

With the update of SA restrictions, the Adelaide Outlaws clubs are back dancing.

Plus this Wed 2 Dec at Kilburn.

Mainstream next Mon 7th Dec at West Croydon Kilkenny RSL.

So looking forward to seeing you all again!!

The regulations put us pretty much where we were before we shutdown – i.e:

  • No social distancing required (we are a group who regularly associate with each other).
  • Sanitising and cleaning as before.
  • Contact tracing required
  • No basket suppers
  • No new learners yet

There are changes  in the maximum numbers allowed in a venue. The density requirement is 1 per 4 sqm of area (it was 1 per 2 sq m).

For Wednesday night that translates to 52 people (6 ½ sets). Should be plenty.

For Monday night it translates to 80 people (10 sets). Again – plenty.

The other change is that check in for those with smartphones (mobile phones with apps) can be by scanning a QR code at the door.

If you don’t have a smartphone, the paper & pen check in will still be there.

2020-11 Temporary closure for 2 weeks

In response to SA Health’s directives following the recent Parafield cluster, we will be closed up to and including Mon November 30th.

Reason: Our club, and other clubs, have a Covid Safe Plan , which is different to the Management Plan which requires events to be cancelled. However, advice from SA Health is that no close contact dancing is allowed for this period. (Even weddings cannot have a bridal dance!)

We value your safety and fully support SA Health’s efforts to contain this outbreak.

Whilst it is disappointing to close again, we will do our part to reduce likelihood of transmission.

The full details of the new directives can be found on the SA Health website on this LINK.

We’ll update everyone with any changes to this and of course confirm when dancing can resume.

Please spread the word.

Can’t wait to see you all again SOON!

2020-09 35th Birthday

35th Birthday celebrations!

Well after a tumultuous year of pandemic recess and loss of hall, we came together to celebrate 35 years of doing what we love. Thanks to so many who made it along to join us at our 35th Birthday black and white night. A wonderful atmosphere and many visitors too. Congratulations to Trevor C and Della I for reaching 10 years with a life membership. Congratulations to Allan T, Karen and Murray, Margaret C and Bev D on reaching 20 years and receiving Gold membership. Thanks to Murray (SASDS president) for presenting our 35 year plaque and Rob E, club president, for the gift to Graham and Dawn.

Great to have visiting callers Scotty, Les T and Ian join us too. The clubs are the heart of our activity and we sincerely thank all of you who have supported us over the years. Looking forward to many many more.

2020-09 We’re Back!!

Great to back!! Our first Mainstream night back after the long recess. Great to see so many of our loyal dancers return with enthusiasm.

Whilst the Plus club has been dancing now for 3 weeks, this was the first dance in 6 months for many Mainstream dancers and a group who were part way through learning.

Thanks so much to everyone for your loyalty and patience as we also try out new venues for the MS group. This one at Fulham. What a great atmosphere and so..o…o good to see you all again!

2020-08 New Hall trials

Following the loss of our Monday Mainstream Hall, we have a plan to trial some different venues.

One is not available Mondays but is available Wednesdays so please read the table above to see where we are dancing, when and at what level. We do appreciate your patience as we work through this.

Note: No decision on swapping nights has been made, this trial has to occur first.
