2018 July 19th – Teaching the “Dutch Crossing”

As a touch of variety to our technical (and good fun!) Plus dancing, we taught our Plus dancers the traditional routine of “Dutch Crossing”. A really pretty routine involving stars, crossed ocean waves and grand right and left. Well done to our patient and enthusiastic group. This is only 1/4 of the routine – but it gives an idea.

2015 April 2 – 6, 56th Australian National Convention

The Outlaws were well represented at this great event and in fact Graham and Dawn were the Convenors.
Here’s a video of the opening floorshow for that Convention featuring caller Graham and the dancers from Bellarouge here in Adelaide.
There’s also a video of Graham calling the final number of the Convention.

2011 April 18th – Easter Dance

At our Eastter dance we invited dancers to perform for us. We had a great response, some called, some sang, some read to us. Here’s some snapshots of their performances:

We thank Ashley-Rose and Noel, Ian, Barry, Rosemarie, Kevin and Hilda for their contributions during the evening – great job!

As well as the performances, there were lashings of hot cross buns and chocolates for the Easter supper. All in all, a great crowd and a great atmosphere.

2010 May 10th – Adelaide Idol Mothers Day Chocoholics

What an entertaining night it was! Eight brave souls put some time and all their inhibitions aside to perform for us on this Mother’s Day Adelaide Idol night. From singers to dancers and poets they gave us their best between brackets. Why even young Barry Kemp gave us a call.

Thankyou so much to our performers. You were great!

We also welcomed four visitors from WA and Doona from Victoria. It was a full on night topped off with the chocolate themed supper. A big thanks to those volunteers who helped set up the hall for us too!

2010 January 24th – Demonstration at Milang

Demo Milang

Adelaide Outlaws dancers at the Power of the Past rally - Milang

On Sunday Jan 24th, Graham & Dawn and a set of our dancers gave a demonstration of square dancing at the “Power of the Past” engine and car rally down at Milang on the shores of Lake Alexandrina (about 80km south east of Adelaide).

This rally is an exhibition of old engines, vehicles and memoribilia from the past. a collection of stationary engnes, tractors, vintage and not-so-vintage cars, motor cycles and collectables. We were thrilled to be asked and gave them a couple of brackets of dancing. On a beautiful warm day, dancing on the grass was fun but a little challenging with lumps and bumps. The crowd loved it and we enjoyed the chance to look at all the equipment on display too. Seems we weren’t the oldies after all!! Thanks to our set for coming all the way to do this:

Dawn, Barry, Brian, Mary, Ross, Margaret, John, Zaree, Eddie, Rosalie and Milton.

2009 May 11th – Adelaide Idol – Mothers Day dance

singer_100What a great night’s entertainment that was!! We had singers, a dancer, some prose-reading and a couple of aspiring callers. Thanks so much to our acts – it takes a lot of courage to come on stage and perform in front of your friends. The mothers’ day supper was quite a feast too. Look forward to next year’s Idol offering – it’s becoming quite popular.

A full-on night this one!! We’ll be serving spuds from 7pm. Please book if you’d like to join us for a spud tea.

We need your talent!! If you’d like to sing, read poetry, do a dance, perform magic, call a square dance or anything you’d like to share – please let us know. This is a chance to be part of the program and it is not being judged – it’s just for fun. Let Graham know as soon as possible so we can program the evening.

We have also just heard that a Japanese caller will be joining us on this night (and on the Wed Plus). You may recall Duke Okada who visited us about 18 months ago. He and his wife are coming over to Adelaide for a visit and we look forward to meeting them again and having him call.

So, spuds, various talents and a guest caller will make this a night not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you there.
