We were thrilled to welcome 2 visitors to our Wednesday Plus club recently. Jutta and Mark from the Black Forest region in Germany dropped in for a night of Plus with us. They are enjoying a “just retired” world trip and really had a ball dancing with us as they were quite apprehensive about the language. No problem! Happy travels.

A video of the night – This video is of Graham calling to the Monster Mash (“it’ll be the death of me” he says!). Also a short clip at the end of a hoedown snippet.
HALLOWE’EN – As many clubs do, we held a Hallowe’en theme night last Mon 29th Oct. Learners, intermediates and Mainstreamers alike dressed the part and enjoyed the decorations, music and the food – oh yes, the food!

Well, love is in the air! Certainly at the Adelaide Outlaws Square Dance Club!
We celebrated another wedding – this time two of our Intermediate (nearly Mainstream) dancers, Brett and Mai.
Following a wedding in the Veale Gardens on the South Parklands, they came along to the club Monday night and we celebrated with another wedding arch. We’re getting quite good at these now!!
2018-09 Robert & Heather tie the knot
Robert has been dancing with us for 13 years and Heather joined our learners intake in 2017. She’s now a fleet-footed Mainstream dancer and their eyes met across the crowded dance floor ….
Married on Wed 26 September and enjoying the dance of marriage!
We celebrated at the club with a wedding arch the Monday after.
Congratulations!!

We turned 33! A real fun night as we celebrated our 33rd Birthday with a Rock’n’Roll theme. Thanks so much to the helpers who decorated and ran the catering and to the visiting callers – Les, Ian and John. Rock and Roll music, decorations and outfits kept the place buzzing.

Video of our Intermediate dancers with the club members in a hoedown (patter)
Another celebration of Fathers’ Day comes around. Still running our learner and intermediate groups, all joined in for a fun evening. Everyone looked great in blue and so did Diana’s posters – so fitting to the theme. Thanks to all who came along.
2018 July 23rd- A night of new learners.
A video of one of our new learners’ class sessions with experienced club dancers helping out.
This is the final night of new intakes and from here we progressed through the Mainstream movements list.
2018 July 19th – Teaching the “Dutch Crossing”
As a touch of variety to our technical (and good fun!) Plus dancing, we taught our Plus dancers the traditional routine of “Dutch Crossing”. A really pretty routine involving stars, crossed ocean waves and grand right and left. Well done to our patient and enthusiastic group. This is only 1/4 of the routine – but it gives an idea.
2018 July 2nd – American Night
Our American theme night was held this year on 2 July and a wonderful collection of red, white & blue outfits were worn by our dancers. We dance to songs that traverse us across the USA (eg: New York, New York, Key Largo, Georgia, Route 66, Hollywood) and the one shown in the video – American Pie.
A great supper with mini hot dogs, donuts just tops off the night.
