Our annual celebration of Mothers’ Day. Many dressed in pink and we did enjoy a hearty chocolate supper. Thanks to all who joined us.

A group of us travelled over to Perth for the 59th Australian National Square Dance Convention. A Nautical/Cruise theme brought out the best costumes and great decorations. We thoroughly enjoyed the convention and thanks to our dancers who represented us in a dressed set on the Saturday night.
Colours abound and the aroma of hot cross buns drives us to distraction!
It’s our annual Easter dance and a lovely atmosphere with all our dancers – learners, intermediates and mainstream – all joining in a celebration of the Easter weekend.
The hall looked great with some “Eggs-cellent” posters (by Graham).
With March brings our annual St Patrick’s theme night. Dancers dressed in green, hall decorated and a great dinner prepared, cooked & served by the spud van people. Irish songs capped it off and a lot of fun was had to be sure!
Here’s a couple of videos – thanks to Diana W.

A group of our members were booked into a visit with “ARTLAB” in Adelaide. Artlab are the group associated with the Art Gallery of SA who carry our renovations, repairs & restoration to artworks of all kinds. From paintings, sculptures, castings, embroidery & even old books. It was truly fascinating to see the special skills used and we were all mesmerised as each specialist took time out to explain what they do.
February sees our annual St Valentine’s themed night. It is run as a Charity dance with all proceeds going to a nominated charity. Included in this is a sale of preloved square dance clothing and acessories. This is getting to be quite an event and soon we’ll need trucks to bring all the gear.
We also called for requests and dancers nominated songs they would like to dance to. More were requested than we could fit in but we gave it a pretty good try!
Here’s a video (Thanks Diana W).
It’s a requested song in our learners’ bracket.
And so we again take pride in our great nation as we celebrate Australia Day with our annual Aussie Night.
A BBQ was cooked by the Largs Bay Rotary Club and we provided a selection of salads. A great turnout (as tends to be the way with food!).
Thanks ot all who helped set up all the Aussie decorations and those who dressed in Aussie colours.
A wonderful atmosphere!
(Thanks again to Diana W for the videos and photos)
These shots and video were taken on the last night of our begineers’ intake in November 2017. We teach for about an hour then dance them with our club dancers. The video captures the atmosphere well.
We love our square dancing but there’s nothing like the sheer joy on the faces of new dancers who “made it” through their first bracket with the “professionals”.
