A very festive way to finish off the year. A beautifully catered roast meal and then dancing afterwards.

The last of the monthly Gen Y sessions for this year was held in the first week of December. The girls decked themselves out in skirts for fun and the boys – let’s fling on a bolo.
A little poignant this evening as we say farewell to Maddi who is relocating interstate. Thanks for helping this get off the ground Maddi and we’ll miss you.
We continue with the Gen Y sessions starting Februaury 2nd 2015.

2014 October 17 – 19, Weekend away to Wallaroo

(Click on thumnbails to enlarge)
A wonderful weekend as around 60 of our dancers converged on the Yorke Peninsula town of Wallaroo. Some time spent on walking tours, a lot of coffees and eating, mine tours in nearby Moonta and of course 2 dances in the beautiful Wallaroo Town Hall. A lovely weekend but most of all a great time spent with some lovely people – getting to know each other a little better.
Big thanks to Anne and Allan Tuckfield who prganised many of the activites and catered at various times. Fantastic!

2014 – September 20th – 29th Birthday – Une Affaire Francaise

(Click on thumbnails to enlarge, then click again)
Ah – c’est magnifique!
What a wonderful 29th Birthday celebration we had with our theme – Une Affaire Francais. Everyone dressed the part in some way and what a colourful collection of Berets. Strains of Edith Piaf and accordion music welcomed guests and we filled the hall with happy dancers. Thanks to Jeff Seidel, Les Tulloch, John Casey and Ian Rutter for joining in with the calling and to Thelma McCue for the themed Rounds.
Food – wow – plenty of croissants, crepes, French Onion Soup, eclairs, chocolat, cheeses etc to provide a welcome break in the night.
Big thanks too to all those who helped out making food, decorations and setting up, pulling down.
A memorable evening and we launch now into our 30th year. What a rush!

2014 – August 11th Pancake Night and Shoe sales

Put on the food and they shall come! Combine that with a shopping experience and you’ve got it made!
Out annual pancake night was a great success with all you can eat pancakes being cooked right there in the hall. Non stop up until supper time and they kept coming back for more. Again we thank Kay and Scott from the Pancake King for doing an excellent job.
We also had the pleasure of hosting Yvonne from Durrant Shoes who set up het “pop up” stall at the back of the hall. By the looks of things, some satisfied customers were pleased with their new purchases.

2014 – Gen Y Dance Sessions

(Click on picture to enlarge then click on picture again)
On the first Monday of every month we hold a dance for “Gen Y” – younger people who just want to try square dancing and dance with their friends or make new ones.
We run from 6:30pm to 8pm and no experience is needed for any of these sessions. We vary the choreo and yet welcome newcomers any time.
The atmosphere is great and man, these guys and girls can move! Learning and dancing fast to some great music, there’s a lot of energy expended.
They usually finish off by nipping out for dinner somewhere close and having a good laugh about it all.
We’re still running these so watch out for notifications on Facebook. First Monday of each month – 6:30pm – 8pm. Spread the word.

2014 July 7th – American Night

(Click on picture to enlarge then click on the picture again).
As July 4th rolled around we decked out the hall in red, white and blue and everyone dressed accordingly. We danced musically through the states of the US and enjoyed a feast of mini hot dogs, apple pies, donuts and other goodies. Thanks to all for your support – a great night out.
